# ipmitool

- Load the IPMI kernel module for local connections:
`kldload ipmi.ko`
- Open IPMI shell on the local hardware :
`ipmitool shell`
- Open IPMI shell on a remote host:
`ipmitool -H {{ip_address}} -U {{user_name}} shell`
