# pg_isready

- Check connection:

`pg_isready`

- Check connection with a specific hostname and port:

`pg_isready {{[-h|--host]}} {{hostname}} {{[-p|--port]}} {{port}}`

- Check connection displaying a message only when the connection fails:

`pg_isready {{[-q|--quiet]}}`
