# git merge-tree

> Merge branches without changing files.

- Show the result of a merge between two branches:

`git merge-tree {{branch1}} {{branch2}}`

- Perform a merge and write the resulting tree:

`git merge-tree --write-tree {{branch1}} {{branch2}}`
