# systemctl disable

> Disable systemd services.

- Stop a service from running on boot:

`systemctl disable {{unit}}`

- Stop a service from running on boot and stop its current execution:

`systemctl disable {{unit}} --now`

- Stop a user service from running on login:

`systemctl disable {{unit}} --user`
