- Reboot the system:

`reboot`

- Power off the system (same as `poweroff`):

`reboot --poweroff`

- Halt (terminates all processes and shuts down the CPU) the system (same as `halt`):

`reboot --halt`

- Reboot immediately without contacting the system manager:
