fix(scripts): fix shared.sh guard logic and echo -e portability

- shared.sh: simplify guard logic, remove misleading warning message,
  use ${VAR:-} pattern to avoid unbound variable error
- install-cheat-purebashbible.sh: replace echo -e with printf for
  POSIX portability
