x-backup-folder

Create a compressed archive of a folder with a timestamped name.

Usage

x-backup-folder <folder> [archive-name]
  • folder – directory to back up
  • archive-name – optional prefix for the generated tar.gz

Example

x-backup-folder ~/Documents Notes
